ferguson, cities like chicago where violence is rampant to good jobs, better public schools and really a different relationship between young black people, especially young black men and the criminal justice system. the criminal justice system right now, it's more than racially profiling. it looks upon young black boys, especially poor black boys, as predators. as young as 5 or 6 years old are getting arrested in classrooms. we need to move away from punishing these boys and making sure they are on grade reading level. the statistics show us that a black boy who at 8 years old is not on third grade reading level, his chances for success plummet. if things like headstart, things like education and also teaching our law enforcement what we saw on the streets of missouri was the militarization of our law enforcement and not treating these black residents as if they were citizens of ferguson. so if we end racial segregation, especially racial segregation. people are going to be able to live and speak next to each other and see each other as neighbors and friends rather than as enemies. >>
